Aerial Rigging, Inc., is the in-house rigging contractor for AVMS at Bonaventure Resort & Spa. Our primary obligation is to ensure that all rigging is carried out in a safe efficient manner. We must approve your rigging design to ensure that it is efficient and that it does not exceed approved loads.
We are responsible to install and dismantle all your equipment needs that require rigging. We are responsible to the hotel and AVMS to ensure that we respect the structural limitations of the meeting rooms as established by their engineers, and to safeguard all the hotel equipment and installations. Aerial will exclusively provide all necessary chain hoist motors and rigging supplies. All signs, banners and decorations must be appoved by AVMS to be hung by Aerial.
We encourage you to download the CADs of the Ballrooms. During your design phase, please contact AVMS regarding the specific rigging requirements for your event.
AVMS will submit a quote detailing the estimate of the cost of the work to be performed and services to be provided. Clients must sign and return the quote prior to any work performed or services provided.
Exclusive Services Provided by Aerial Rigging
1. Rigging Labor
Anything attached to the hotel structure from a height of six (6) feet or more, must be affixed by Aerial. We suspend truss, lighting, speakers, projection screens, monitors, projectors, plasma screens, speaker clusters, etc., from the ceilings. The Bonaventure Resort and Spa has a permanent point installation which must be used to support all rigging loads. CAD's show the location of all the permanent points. We must review and approve all rigging plots in advance to ensure that they are safe, workable, and that they respect the load limits of the building. We request these rigging plots at least fourteen (14) days in advance of an event. We can rig the ballrooms to provide for a professional caliber performance or concert.
2. Chain Hoist Motors & Rigging Supplies
The chain hoist motor is the critical piece of equipment that lifts the truss and equipment attached thereto off the floor and keeps the rig suspended at the ceilings. As a result of safety and liability concerns, Aerial exclusively provides all chain hoist motors and related gear, as we can ensure that the chain hoists are certified and are in proper working order.
Specific Guidelines
- No rigging is permitted from the air-wall tracks.
- A plot plan showing the rigging requirements and detailing the weights to be supported must be submitted to AVMS 14 days prior to your event. Aerial will review this plan in order to determine whether it respects the load limits and permanent point installation of The Bonaventure Resort and Spa.
- Any rigging modifications, additions, or deletions to the plot plan must be approved in advance. The cost of any changes to an installation necessitated as a result of not having these changes approved in advance will be borne by the client.
- Equipment that has already been “flown” can be moved only by Aerial.
- Items attached to the ceilings must be a minimum of eight (8) feet above the floor.
- Climbing on equipment once equipment it has been “flown” is prohibited.
- Any equipment to be added to a hung rig must be installed by Aerial.
- The per point load limit in the Grand Ballroom is 500 lbs and the Global Ballroom is 750 lbs.
- All equipment and materials flown must pass A.N.T.S.E. and ESTA standard guidelines.
- All truss used must be manufactured by accredited manufacturer who can provide engineered drawings of the truss upon request. Aerial Rigging reserves the right to deem equipment unsuitable for hanging if engineered drawings cannot be provided upon request.
- Any articulating/dynamic (i.e. moving) show or performance element must have an arrester device.
- A steel “safety” is required for each individual item suspended from the ceiling, any supporting structure or truss.
- All electric cables and connections must be UL rated for the amperage capacity required for safe operation and must conform to all local codes.
- All material used must be non-flammable and must conform to the fire regulations of the Fire Marshall.
- Banner placement, outside of ballrooms and/or meeting rooms, must be approved in advance through AVMS and your CSM.
THANK YOU for trusting Aerial to help serve your event.
